We seek a Oracle Application Support Engineer(Level 2/3) to join our Application Support team, which specialises in supporting our customers and implementing solutions within our Springboard application.

The successful applicant will form part of our technology team who provide services to our customers through the support, development, implementation and problem analysis of our software solutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Getting amongst it! Hunting down customer problems and challenges, digging through the data, identifying trends, identifying solutions and coding them through to customer success.
• Software testing & some development of our web based application, primarily focussed on the database, SQL and PL/SQL aspects of the solution
• Modifying and troubleshooting applications.
• Turbo-charge our application support team to enable faster problem resolution and drive customer satisfaction
• Collaborate with other teams and departments within PeopleScout
• Creating software specification and training documents.

Here's a look at just some of the stuff you'll be working on:

• Guiding our Application Support team as problems arise
• Recommending solutions to complex problems
• Building and supporting new and existing Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures as part of our full-stack architectural framework
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks
• Develop SQL based reports for delivery to customers utilising enterprise BI platforms
• Build XML and JSON based interfaces and RESTful services
• Documenting troubleshooting guides for future use, and training the existing support team
• Creating tools and methods for improving the efficiency and productivity of the team
• Understanding our existing application and troubleshooting complex problems as they arise
• Work and collaborate with our agile team

Here's what we'd like you to have: 

• Solid experience in relational databases, SQL and developing Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures with a strong understanding of database objects and structures
• Experience working with data, identifying trends and patterns that can lead to problem identification and solution implementation
• A genuine appetite for customer success and innovation
• Strong understanding of database structures, identifying performance bottlenecks and introducing improvements
• The ability to work independently, but also as part of a broader team
• Strong analytical thinking and creative problem solving skills
• Web application, Saas experience 

And here's some other skills that are desirable:

• Experience working in a web based environment
• Experience building SQL based reports including trend analysis
• Knowledge working with TOAD, SQL Developer or equivalent IDE
• Understanding or experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS and AJAX frameworks
• Knowledge of Java development
