Our client is a large, international concern with ambitious plans which include a significant capital works programme. This role is responsible for heading up the delivery of large, simultaneous and complex cross functional industrial construction programmes in multiple locations in Australia.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of a team of dedicated, skilled Project Managers.
  • Lead appropriate governance to deliver programs in line with strategy and methodology requirements.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive program plans - scope, objectives, resourcing, costs and sequencing, timelines.
  • Provide a consolidated view across all projects in scope.
  • Support program and project priorities and resourcing to ensure delivery against agreed strategic initiatives.
  • Provide integrated tracking of budget, benefits, timelines, issues and risks / opportunities.
  • Identify and facilitate the resolution of cross program issues.
  • Provide status reporting and issue escalation.
  • Develop and execute stakeholder communication plans to drive effective decision making.
  • Ensure that change activities are integrated into the overall project plan.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure change is managed effectively, including any strategy, cross-program, systems, process, and people impacts.
  • Contact point for sharing best practice and knowledge across the Capital Works team.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10+ years proven, successful delivery of complex, multiple programs and projects, managing competing priorities.
  • Engineering or construction related tertiary qualifications.
  • Leadership and development of project methodologies, governance frameworks and templates.
  • Experience in the construction of industrial complexes and/or manufacturing sites.
  • Experience in commercial management of multi-party building contracts.
  • Experience in tendering commercial contracts.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate across many different functions and organisation levels, demonstrating excellent influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
