Buyer/ Category Manager
Build the Future of Online Retail.
We're looking for a driven and commercially minded Buyer to lead the sourcing, curation and performance of a fast-paced, high-impact product range across key home and lifestyle categories.
You'll be at the centre of identifying trends, launching exclusive online collections, and forging supplier partnerships that deliver exceptional value to customers. This role is ideal for a buyer with a strong background in Impulse or FMCG categories who thrives on creativity, negotiation, and driving sales.
What You'll Do
- Source and develop supplier relationships to ensure the right products are bought at the right time and price.
- Identify and grow new product areas aligned with strategic category expansion.
- Develop and deliver an online-exclusive range aligned with pricing, assortment, and customer value expectations.
- Spot emerging trends by analysing product history, market research, supplier insights and competitor activity.
- Conduct ongoing financial analysis—monitoring sales, margins, markdowns, stock levels and overall supplier performance.
- Evaluate performance by subclass, supplier, colour, and profitability metrics.
- Drive improved rebate opportunities across categories.
- Manage all supplier negotiation and onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with quality, packaging, sustainability and regulatory standards.
- Provide timely and accurate product data, imagery, and marketing support to cross-functional teams including Digital and Marketing.
- Build strong working relationships with store teams through regular engagement and store visits.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone with a passion for buying and a sharp eye for product potential, particularly in Impulse or FMCG categories. You'll be motivated by data, inspired by customers, and driven to deliver.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- At least 3 years' experience in a buyer role.
- Buying experience in Impulse or FMCG categories (preferred).
- Proven ability to build supplier relationships and negotiate commercial terms.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to turn data into insight and action.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Results-driven with a focus on achieving margin and sales targets.
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-moving retail environment.
- A customer-first mindset in everything you do.
