We have an exciting opportunity for a Head chef to join a new a ‘rapid deployment camp', supporting the mining operations, based in Pilbara region of Western Australia. This is a FIFO role. Which will see this person based onsite, at the village for 8 days on and 6 days off.  

Scope of role:

  • This role is responsible for the smooth and profitable operation of all kitchen activities at this new Village
  • To produce and maintain enough of all menu items to service the man day requirements for all meal
  • offerings.
  • Supervise the work of the kitchen team, motivating the team to provide a timely well presented, appropriately garnished food
  • Ensure staff hold appropriate qualifications and certificates to perform the work within their nominated location.
  • Ensure the efficient and productive use of labour in the Kitchen by assisting in the production of a weekly costed roster based on occupancy levels.
  • Work with the cooks to create weekly menus that are healthy, appealing and enjoyed by all staff
  • Provide leadership and management to all cook staff, with the support of HR

Your experience:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or higher.
  • International qualifications must be recognised by an Australian Trade College.
  • Open drivers' licence, Class C.
  • At least ten years chef experience and or relevant industry experience in a similar position cooking for large groups
  • Experience supervising and managing of a kitchen team
  • Experience in Workplace Health and Safety requirements for the hospitality industry
  • Management of Food Safety Plans (Essential
  • FIFO Industry experience (Preferred)
